On 26/9/2017, the Italian Ambassador in Lebanon with the military attaché at the Embassy visited the Lebanon Mine Action Center; Brigadier General Ziad Nasr welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the tasks related to the center, especially in the field of humanitarian demining operations, and he insisted for the need of teams to assist in clearance operations and in the implementation of awareness campaign sessions all over the Lebanon without distinction between Lebanese citizens and Syrian refugees and about the importance of the assistance to mine victims.

The Ambassador promised that his Government would work to support non-governmental organizations to assist in the humanitarian mine action program.
