The Swiss Government is currently seeking to support the LMAC in dealing with the mine problem in Lebanon. In this scope, the Swiss Embassy's Military Attaché to Lebanon and Representative met with the LMAC Director and officers to discuss the Center's needs for fulfilling its clearance objective.
During the meeting, the delegation was shortly briefed on the LMAP implementation stages, the Center's role and activity, future plans, and latest achievements. The meeting highlighted the Center's need for additional funding and assistance to achieve its humanitarian mine action goals according to the LMAC Strategy 2011-2020.
At the end of the visit, the LMAC Director thanked the delegation and the Swiss Government for their concern, hoping for future collaboration and further support to eradicate the contamination problem in Lebanon.
