On November 15, 2018, Colonel Ghassan Al Azar, LMAC Head of Admin Department, Major Maroun Hleihel, Chief of RMAC-N, H.E. Mrs. LeneLind, the Royal Norwegian Ambassador, and Mrs. Ariane Elmas, UNDP Mine Action Advisor visited the NPA Cluster munitions site in Aynata and the MAG Minefield site in Meiss Al Jabal, where they listened to a detailed brief about the operations and the latest activities of the NGOs and they observed a demolition process in Meiss Al Jabal.
On 17 April, Ms. Brown visited the Regional Mine Action Center in Nabatieh where RMAC-N Chief welcomed her and gave her a detailed brief about the activities of the center. Later she visited a cluster munitions field in Kafr Tibnit, which was previously cleared by MAG, where the team leader informed her about working inside the field.
On 11 Aptil, a group from GICHD visited Yohmor municipality, where the mayor welcomed them and explained the impact of the cluster munitions and the stages of the clearance with the army and MA organizations. Then they visited the Regional Center for Mine Action – Nabatiyeh (RMAC-N), where RMAC-N Chief gave them a detailed brief about the operations activities of the center and about the mine action organizations working in the south.
MAG Technical Advisor, Mr. Mark Thompson, visited the RMAC-N where RMAC-N Chief welcomed him gave him a brief about the work in the Center. Then he visited cluster munitions field in Meiss Al Jabal which was previously cleared by MAG, where the Site Supervisor gave a detailed brief about the operations.
