Visit of the British HALO Trust organization to Lebanon

As the international community is highly concerned of the mine action activities in Lebanon, the LMAC received a visit from the British HALO Trust organization on 11 July 2017. This team was represented by the Organization`s manager Mr, Simon Conway accompanied with Mr Freddie Sfeir and Paddy Nicoll. The visit commenced with a short brief given by the LMAC`s director Brig general Ziad Nasr who provided an overview on mines problem in Lebanon, means for overcoming obstacle, center`s achievements, challenges faced by the center in the demining context in addition to discussing best practices to enhance the cooperation between the center and the organization.

 

The team then moved to a mine field currently being operated by DCA under the supervision of LMAC in Aramoun, Mount Lebanon, where they have been briefed on the flow of the demining work in this field.
