Under the supervision of the Lebanese Mine Action Center (LMAC), and in coordination with the National MRE Steering Committee, an 8 month Mine Risk Education (MRE) project funded by UNICEF and executed by the University of Balamand was launched on July 1st, 2013 aiming to enhance skills and knowledge of national actors to deliver MRE activities targeting children in schools and communities in affected areas.

2013 National MRE Campaign
On the occasion of the International day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, the LMAC launched a national MRE campaign (4-12 April 2013) under the auspices of the Speaker of the House and in cooperation with the National Steering Committee on MRE. The campaign included the following activities:
Lebanese European Cooperation Exhibition at UNESCO
The LMAC participated in the "let’s work together" Lebanese European Cooperation Exhibition (18-19 March 2013) at UNESCO and raised awareness among participants.
MRE Exhibition at Al Sahel Hospital
On May 4th, 2012, the LMAC raised awareness at Al Sahel Hospital, on the occasion of the free health day.
