Who we are

The Regional School for Humanitarian Demining in Lebanon (RSHDL) focuses on delivering high-quality training programs in mine action, designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to address explosive hazards effectively and safely. Committed to advancing humanitarian mine action, RSHDL serves both Lebanon and other countries affected by explosive remnants of war, fostering safer, more resilient communities. Guided by a vision to play a leading global role in mine action training, the school emphasizes innovation, excellence, and collaboration, ensuring its contributions meet the evolving needs of the field while strengthening partnerships and building capacities regionally and internationally.

Our history

The Regional School for Humanitarian Demining in Lebanon (RSHDL) was conceived in 2010 during an annual meeting between Lebanon and France, inspired by the success of the CPADD training center in Benin. With the objective of creating a regional hub for mine action capacity building, the school was established through a cooperative agreement between the two governments. France contributed to the development of training curricula, instructor capacity, and compliance with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), while Lebanon rehabilitated the infrastructure. By 2017, RSHDL, operating under the Lebanon Mine Action Center (LMAC), became a recognized regional hub, offering advanced mine action training and serving Arabic-speaking and other countries affected by explosive remnants of war.

Our Vision

“Leading global humanitarian mine action training to build safer, hazard-free communities.”

To play a leading global role in humanitarian mine action training, empowering individuals and organizations with the knowledge, skills, and expertise, to build safer and more resilient communities, free from the threat of explosive hazards.

Our Mission

To deliver high-quality, comprehensive and responsive training in mine action within an enabling environment, equipping professionals to safely and effectively address explosive hazards.
