These strategies are developed in close partnership with national government, local communities, international organizations, donors, and technical partners to ensure a coordinated and sustainable response. Guided by humanitarian principles, sustainable development goals  and aligned with the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), our approach is evidence-based, adaptable, and rooted in the needs of affected populations. Together, we aim to create safe environments that support recovery, development, stability and long-term peace.

LMAC Strategy 2020 – 2025 Review

The 2025-2020 strategic plan was developed in 2020 to guide LMAC in leading and managing mine action responsibilities effectively and in close partnership with stakeholders. It consists mainly of gradually declaring all the regions of Lebanon free from EO following the latest prioritization study. However, since 2020 Lebanon has faced a compounding series of challenges. LMAC Strategy 2020 – 2025

This Lebanon humanitarian mine action strategy 2020 – 2025 document is the result of the collective effort of the Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) community in Lebanon, it sets clear priorities and a firm direction towards our common goal of a Lebanon free of the negative impact caused by Explosive Ordnance (EO). The strategy was developed under the leadership of the Lebanon Mine Action Centre (LMAC), in its capacity as the secretary to the Lebanon Mine Action Authority (LMAA), with support from the EU funded UNDP project.

LMAC Strategy 2011 – 2020

Following the entry into force of the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) for Lebanon on May 1, 2011, the Government of Lebanon isreviewing its “Long Term Plan 2008-2012”, and submitting the current document (dated 1 September 2011) as its “2011-2020 National Mine Action Strategy”, to meet its obligations within the Convention 10 year deadline. The Lebanon Mine Action Centre has developed this strategic plan; it aims to contribute to the achievement of Lebanon development objectives and to guide the implementation of the Convention on Cluster Munitions and the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities.
