During May 2017(1st till 20th of May 2017), the LMAC RSHDL officer attended a course on the Non- Technical survey especially suited to the practical exercises for NTS and scenario–based training at the German Armed Forces UN Training Centre in Hammelburg.
During June 2017 (5th till 16th of June 2017), one of the LMAC staff attended a training course on Mine Action Information Management Qualification (MIQ) at Administrator Level 1 in Switzerland supported by the Swiss Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS). The training was based on IMSMA NG6.
During April 2017(6th till 7th of April 2017), the Lebanon Mine Action Center’s (LMAC) Director, Brigadier General Ziad Nasr and Colonel Ahmed Lababidi, the QAQC Section Head/ Arab Regional Cooperation Programme (ARCP) Coordinator visited GICHD (Geneva International Center For Humanitarian Demining) where they discussed and explored future areas for cooperation.
During March 2017 (5th till 17th of March 2017), one of the LMAC`s staff attended a training on IMSMA level 2 in Geneva. IMSMA is a software developed by the GICHD (Geneva International Center for Humanitarian Demining) as a data management tool for use in mine action centers. This training allowed the LMAC staff to acquire the necessary skills to work and update the mine action database in Lebanon.
