LMAC celebrating International Day for disabilities

On the 3rd of December 2016, LMAC venerated the international day for disabilities with collaboration with international and national partners and MVA steering committee members. During this day, LMAC took the opportunity to express its persistent effort to reduce the intensity of mine victims ‘pain and provide an optimistic view of life.

Funded by UNMAS and supported by UNDP, LMAC provided 20 mine victims with customized below the knee prostheses with dynamic foot and liner. This initiative presented the victims with an attempt to regain use of their legs and supported their rehabilitation process to recover their daily activities.

The mine victim assistance project has witnessed two major events during this period. The first activity was the launching of a need assessment survey entitled “National Victim Needs Assessment” funded by UNMAS and supported by UNDP. The updated and detail-oriented database will track the victims’ needs and will improve planning and victim assistance provisions.
