In April 2019, Lebanon Mine Action Center organized a workshop on Explisive Ordnance Risk Education in the context of the Syrian Refugee Crisis at the Regional Humanitarian School for Demining in Lebanon - Hammana. This workshop was attended by representatives of the Regional Mine Action  Authorities from UNICEF, UNHCR, UNDP, UNMAS, GICHD and the NGOs.

This workshop was funded by Norway and supported by GICHD and UNDP.

 

The first Middle-East Regional Conference on Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and Mine Action in Complex Environments is taking place at the Regional School of Humanitarian Demining in Lebanon.
The Lebanon Mine Action Center has brought together over 80 national, regional & international experts to improve practice on IED land release & urban approaches.

This 3-Day Workshop is supported by GICHD and UNDP and is funded by Royal Norwegian Embassy and US Embassy in Beirut.

A celebration to disburse Mine Victim grants to 34 survivors who won in the Income Generation Project was held on 14 December 2018 at the “Regional School for Humanitarian Demining Lebanon” at Hammana casern in the presence of Br. General Ziad Nasr, LMAC director, LMAC MVA Officer, the US Embassy and EU delegation in Lebanon, the Balamand University and the MVA National Steering Committee where survivors received their grants that were funded by EU and MLI.

In May, Mr. Gary Breen visited the RSHDL at Said Al Khatib Barracks - Hammana where he checked the ongoing preparations to launching the NTS course during June 2018 for students from Arab Countries, through checking the training locations, equipment, and the accommodation for the trainees and the trainers in the School. At the end, they put the course agenda.
