A delegation from the Tajik Mine Action Centre (TMAC) and the OSEC in Tajikistan visited Lebanon (18-22 August 2014) in order to share expertise and to develop future collaboration and cooperation between the affected states.
At the Lebanon Mine Action Center, the delegation was shortly briefed on the Center's activity and latest achievements, and discussed with the LMAC Director future cooperation regarding the humanitarian mine action activities.
The delegation next visited the RMACN and conducted field visits to the MAG BAC teams and the LAF Engineer Regiment teams operating in the South and checked their performance and equipment.
At the last site of the visit, the LAF Engineer Regiment in Warwar, Baabda area, the delegation met with the Engineer Regiment Commander who briefed the role and mission of the LAF demining teams and then guided the delegation through the minefields of Souk al Ghareb village to witness the activity of the LAF demining teams.
The delegation expressed its admiration for the LMAC's outstanding work and management of the LMAP, and received at the end of its visit a token of appreciation from the LMAC Director.
