LMAC's EORE team has given MRE sessions for 514 individual working as Police officers from Municipalities, Fire Fighters, woodland wardens, fire brigaders that was held at RSHDL during late July and August 2021 in Collaboration with the University of Balamand. These training sessions where supported by UNICEF and funded by EU.

LMAC held a MRE session in Providence School - Mrayje and distributed gifts for the Art Competition Winners with T-shirts, Caps and flyers to more than 200 students.
This event is funded by UK in Lebanon and supported by UNDP.

Lebanon Mine Action Center will hold a Competition for Schools' Students about Mine Awareness. The best drawing will be used by LMAC.

On the occasion of the International Mine Awareness Day on 4th of April 2019, Lebanon Mine Action Center launched the National Mine Risk Education (MRE) awareness campaign on mines, cluster munitions and unexploded ordnance under the Slogan of Promoting Safety and Development in cooperation with the National Steering Committee in all Lebanese territories.

The campaign included the following activities:

  • Send short SMS messages to citizens via mobile phones, the message was: “For a happy and safe life, do not close to mines and cluster munitions and do not touch them, inform immediately the Lebanon Mine Action Center (05/956143)” in coordination with the Ministry of Communications.
  • MRE Awareness Session in LIU to students – Nabatiyeh Branch which includes: awareness messages, show of a fake minefield, a demonstration of manual clearance of mines, description of all clearance equipment and at the end they distribute awareness leaflets to the audience.
  • Door to Door MRE Sessions in Al Wazzani which includes: awareness messages and distribution of awareness leaflets residents.
  • Rally Paper Martyrs Square – Beirut for the residents of the town which includes: awareness messages, show of a fake minefield, a demonstration of manual clearance of mines, description of all clearance equipment and at the end they distribute awareness leaflets to the audiences.

  • MRE Awareness Session in Sports Camp in Deir Qanun Al Nahr for the students which includes: a session on MRE, show of a fake minefield, hand crafting, a demonstration of manual clearance of mines, description of all clearance equipment and at the end they distribute awareness leaflets to the audience.

In order to raise mine awareness on the blue line due to many reports of individuals picking up mines, Lebanon Mine Action Center (LMAC) in cooperation with the National Steering Committee, organized a Risk Education event on Friday 8th of March at Kfarkela on the southern border from 9:00 to 11:30. This event is estimated to gather around 500 students from neighboring schools.

Lebanon Mine Action Center in coopreration with Ministry of Education held a graduation ceremony at the Sa'id Al Khatib Barracks in Hamanah, where teachers and health counselors attended the public schools and the guidance and guidance centers of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The ceremony was attended by Brig. Gen. Ziad Nasr, head of the Lebanon Mine Action Center, representing Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, representatives of humanitarian mine action organizations and associations, and  officers, Mrs. Sonia Najm, representative of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, who thanked the army leadership for cooperating with the ministry, stressing the importance of spreading awareness among the students of public schools in reducing the number of victims of mines and cluster bombs.

Brigadier General Nasr also said: "We are celebrating today the graduation of a training course in the field of mine risk education, the first of its kind between the Regional Demining School for humanitarian purposes and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, The dangers of landmines and cluster bombs in public schools, and awareness-raising among the younger generations in general, an important step at the national level that will undoubtedly help to deliver awareness messages in the best possible way through specialized activists and the adoption of diverse audio and visual media. "

On 15 December 2018, Lebanon Mine Action Center in cooperation with the National Steering Committee organized a rally paper, with around 300 participants, at public high school in Ras Baalbak to raise awareness on the risk of minesm IED and unexploded ordnance. This rally paper included educational games, songs, Christmas parade with Santa Claus and other cartoons personalities followed by distribution of medals at the end. This event is funded by DFID and supported by UNDP.
