With the aim to raise awareness on mine risk and to demonstrate the importance of humanitarian mine action, Lebanon Mine Action Center (LMAC) with the cooperation of the National Steering Committee, participated in Beirut BLOM Marathon on 11 November 2018, by setting a platform on the 8 km fun race in Hamra Street, showing photos of mines, cluster munitions, warning signs and a mannequin wearing PPE and Visor holding a detector for about 45,000 participants in this particular race.

While playing patriotic songs, flyers, bracelets, and balloons showing #togetheragainstmines were distributed to participants.

The event was supported by UNDP and funded by EU.
