During November 2016 (28th of Nov till 1st of Dec 2016), the LMAC head of operations department attended the Fifteen Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-personnel Mines and on Their Destruction in the republic of Chili.

This conference urged all states affected by anti-personnel mines to do their utmost to develop and implement plans to clear mined areas, to destroy stockpiles, and to provide victim assistance and mine risk education. It also encouraged them to bear in mind the needs of local communities, pay due regard to gender concerns, and incorporate mine action into development planning as well as budgeting and provide adequate and sustained technical and financial assistance to states affected by mines.
