From 19th till 20th of May 2016, the head of MVA section attended the Third Review Conference, of the informal intersessional meeting on Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.

The Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention was adopted on 18 September 1997 and entered into force on 1 March 1999. The Conference aimed to set a clear humanitarian goal and to put an end to the suffering caused by anti-personnel mines. This conference urge all national and international community to work hard to prohibit the use, stockpiling, production and transfer of anti-personnel mines and call for the destruction of all stockpiles, the clearance of all mined areas and assistance for landmine victims.
