Introduction
This Glossary provides a summary of the terms, definitions and abbreviations used in the Lebanon National Mine Action Standards (NMAS).
The primary reference for this NMAS is IMAS 04.10 Glossary of mine action terms, definitions and abbreviations (2nd Edition, amendment 11, January 2023).
This NMAS includes some terms that may be new to mine action stakeholders in Lebanon. To avoid confusion amongst those who have become accustomed to the previous Glossary, provision has been made to use the legacy terms and the new terms interchangeably when they are virtual synonyms. This should allow the new terms to be adopted in a way that avoids confusion.
