In May 2018, a coordination meeting was held to benefit from the allocated funds in the mine action program for the clearance of cluster munitions, where it was agreed to set a common mechanism regarding the request of mine action organizations under the supervision of LMAC.

Meeting with the new Director of UNMAS at the LMAC
Br. General Ziad Nasr, director of the Lebanon Mine Action Center, welcomed Mr. Alan McDonald, and informed him about the LMAC activities and the Mine Action Program in Lebanon, in addition they discussed some projects related to the MoU between LMAC an UNIFIL and their ways of cooperation.
Visit of UNDP Advisors to LMAC
On 9 May, Br. General Ziad Nasr, director of Lebanon Mine Action Center, welcomed UNDP Advisors, Mr. Marat Mutzabekov, Mr. Fadi Abilmona, Mrs. Elena Srour and Mr. Kenj Hamadeh, and informed them about the latest activities of the LMAC and the Socio economic impact over the humanitarian activities.
Attending the 8th Multi State Party meeting of the CCM
LMAC participated in the 8th Multi State Party meeting of the Convention on Cluster Munitions. Lebanon was requested to be featured in 2 of the 6 side events. The first one presented countries which witnessed significant progress in Mine Action including Croatia and Lebanon. The second side event focused on Lebanon Country Coalition as a model to follow in other countries based on the success this initiative led by the Norwegian Ambassador in Lebanon, had on mine action funding and support.
