Delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross visited the Regional Mine Action Center – Nabatiyeh where Chief of RMAC gave them a brief about the work and achievements of the center and the clearance and awareness assets used to prevent danger of mines and cluster munitions.
In June 2019, Mrs. Gurdun Bertinussen, Country Director of Norwegian People’s Aid, visited mine fields in Arsal to check the work progress of their teams.
Br. General Ziad Nasr LMAC Director,, welcomed H.E. Mr. Chris Rampling, Uk Ambassador in Lebanon, at the Regional Mine Action Center - Nabatieh with the presence of Major Maroun Hleileh, Chief of RMAC-N, Mrs. Ariane Elmas, UNDP Project Manager, Mr. Dave Willey, MAG PM, Mr Craig McDiarmid, NPA PM, LMAC Officers and UNDP Staff, where General Nasr and Maj. Hleihel gave H.E. a general brief about LMAC and RMAC-N Activities in South, North in addition to Aarsal Area, followed by a brief done by Mr. Willey about MAG and NPA cooperation under LMAC supervision.
On 26 November 2018, H.E. Mr. Chris Rampling, UK Ambassador to Lebanon, participated in the opening ceremony of the new Regional Mine Action Center of the Lebanon Mine Action Center (LMAC), at the Capt. Elias Khoury barracks - Ras Baalbek which was well refurbished by the DFID.
