On 20/9/2016, some of the LMAC`s officers attended an experiment on metal wires detector of type (CEIA) Italian made, in the presence of the International Data Corporations (IDC), the exclusive distributor of this device and representatives from DCA. The event aimed to test the effectiveness of this detector in mine clearance and the possibility of adopting it in the future operations.

 

On the mid-March 2016, the LMAC received an International visit of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe- Tajikistan, and the Tajikistan Mine Action Center and the National Authority for Humanitarian Demining in Tajikistan in addition to a team from UNMAS. This visit aimed to interchange the experiences of both Lebanon and Tajikistan in the field humanitarian demining and express new ideas and suggestions that it might contribute to the progress of the clearance activities in both countries.

On 27/2/2016, the LMAC received a diplomatic visit of Norway ambassador in Lebanon with a purpose of assessing the pace of the clearance process in Lebanon. In this context, they visited different minefields located in Southern Lebanon, particularly the Blue Line area and they have been introduced to the different means used in the demining process.

 

Towards the end of January 2016, a team from the African International Committee of the Red Cross (African ICRC) and Zimbabwe Mine Action Center (Zimbabwe MAC) visited Lebanon on a mission intended to get an overview of the Lebanon mine action activities in the humanitarian demining process, mine risk awareness and mine victims assistance with attention to LMAC`s thrive to fulfill its strategic objectives of reaching a mine free lands by the end of 2021.
