The Marshall Legacy Institute (MLI)’s Director, Mr. Perry Baltimore visited Lebanon on December 11th, 2015 to follow up on the situation of the Institute’s Mine Detection Dogs (MDD)’ donation to the LAF.
Within the framework of the Arabic-language Outreach Programme (AOP) for mine action, the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) in partnership with the LMAC organized the 4th AOP Annual Conference for National Directors in Beirut, Lebanon from 20 to 22 October 2015, at the Golden Tulip Hotel.
In October 2015, one LMAC staff member attended a ten-day hands-on training course in IMSMA version 6.0 Administrator 2, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland. The training was organized by the GICHD and aimed to develop the skills of all IMSMA users by focusing on the analysis of IMSMA data and GIS analysis (with ArcGIS online, PRISMA, etc.).
To facilitate the transition from GIS version 9.3 to version 10.1, two training sessions were organized for 15 LMAC staff, 2 Engineering Regiment staff and 3 UNDP staff on GIS version 10.1 beginners (from 28 to 30 September 2015) and advanced (on 18 and 21 November 2015) at the LMAC premises.
